广安是中国改革开放和社会主义现代化建设总设计师邓小平同志的家乡，辖6个区市县，幅员面积6344平方公里，总人口约470万，拥有“伟人故里、滨江之城、川东门户、红色旅游胜地”四张名片，距重庆主城区约100公里。
广安市中医医院（成都中医药大学附属广安医院）是广安市人民政府与成都中医药大学合作举办的市级公立中医医院，是一家集中西医医疗、教学、科研、治未病“四位一体”的国家二级甲等综合性中医医院。
医院现有职工320余人，其中:中高级专业人才60多人，11名四川省名中医在医院设立传承创新工作室，成都中医药大学30多名专家教授(其中博士生导师3名、硕士生导师13名、医学博士及硕士18名)常年坐诊、查房、手术。设有临床专科21个，医技科室8个，7个中西医结合诊疗病区。中医妇科、口腔科、风湿免疫科、针灸推拿科、肛肠科为市级重点学科，中医特色明显。拥有最新一代飞利浦1.5T核磁共振、西门子62排CT、3D腹腔镜、微创手术系统奧林巴斯胃肠镜和进口四维彩超等高端设备。
医院被纳入全市社会事业“十四五”规划，列为“1+3+1”重点公立医院建设。目前正按照“办区域性最好的医疗”目标奋进，力争2025年建成三级甲等中医医院，成为区域性最好的中医医疗中心。
